Oh God I Did No Work Over Reading Week

And so reading week comes to an end (everyone please pay your respects to my 0% completed dissertation). This also means that we’re back to having a busy schedule, so enjoy the plethora of events available to y’all this week!

FILM NIGHT Mean Girls, Monday 18th February, 18:00 – 21:00, Pearson G22
On Mondays, we watch films. This October 3rd…or I guess February 18th, UCL Sci-Fi and Fantasy Society is going to watch Mean Girls, because – oh my god Karen, you can’t just ask people why we don’t only show Sci-Fi and Fantasy films. Whether you have been personally victimised by Hannah Okumura Jones or you don’t even go here, feel free to come as SFFS attempts to try to make fetch happen.

The book club is reading Catherine Webb’s The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. This week discussing chapters 34-58.

ALL DAY RPGS, Saturday 23rd February, 12:00 – 21:00, Cruciform Basement
Come along to spend a whole day (or at least more than 3 hours) playing one of several one-shots run by members of the society.

ARTEMIS: SPACESHIP SIMULATOR, Sunday 24th February, 13:00 – 17:00, Cruciform B1.07
Join Webmaster Kari as he recreates the bridge of a Star Trek Enterprise-like spaceship in the Cruciform! You’ll play various roles as you fight evil aliens, complete quests, and desperately try to avoid flying into black holes…
All you need to bring is a laptop (+ a mouse will be helpful if you have one). There’s no need for you to buy the game, I have a copy that will cover everyone. No prior experience necessary!

TRI-WIZARD TOURNAMENT, Friday 1st March, 18:00 – 21:00, IOE 537
In what is our most ambitious cross-over event of the year, UCL Sci-Fi Fantasy will go head to head to head against UCL Film Society and UCL Harry Potter Society in a series of competition to determine once and for all – what society is the best at arbitrarily pre-determined competitions.
Go to the event, choose what team you’ll support and get ready to compete!
