Election Week!

On Monday we’ll find out who’s running in the elections and we’ll get to hear their speeches in the evening at the Hustings (and we’ll also be eating some free pizza, thank you society coffers)!

You’ll be able to vote online through the SFFS page on the Union website: https://studentsunionucl.org/clu…/sci-fi-and-fantasy-society

Later, on Friday we’ll find out the results and in the evening we’ll be having the AGM! We’ll be voting for the Welfare Officer and discussing constitutional changes.
(Note that book club will not be meeting this week to make time for the AGM.)

Finally and most excitingly, on Saturday we’ll be throwing a party in The Institute Bar to celebrate the end of term!

, Monday 18th March, 18:00 – 21:00, Pearson G22
All candidates will present a speech (no more than 2 minutes) and will answer questions from attending members. We will be filming the hustings and uploading the footage to the FB group. Free pizza will be involved, so don’t miss out!

BOARD GAMES, Wednesday 20th March, 18:00 – 21:00, Chadwick 2.18

AGM, Friday 22nd March, 19:00 – 21:00, IOE W2.05
This is where you guys (or rather those of you who are full members) get to vote on constitutional amendments and bring up comments or suggestions. We’ll also be electing our new Welfare Officer.

ALL DAY RPGS, Saturday 23rd March, 12:00 – 19:00, Cruciform Basement
We know the drill by now: spending hours being nerds and playing RPGs. Check out the FB Event for more info.

PARTY!, Saturday 23rd March, 19:00 – ???, IOE Bar
To celebrate the end of term, We’ve booked out the IOE Bar on a Saturday and in true SFFS fashion, we’ll be getting drunk to forget all of the terrible, terrible things we’ve put you through over the past year.
Everybody dress like your favourite committee member!

Deadlines are a Joy

UPDATE ON THE ELECTIONS
We have been notified by the union that we will require a Welfare Officer in the committee next year! We will be electing this position at the AGM and not online. For a better idea of the role contact our current Welfare Representative, Jo Winter.

Happy Almost-Reading Week!

Heyo! We’ve got a busy week leading into reading week and I hope y’all are surviving your deadlines.

Fun side note: I’m aware that a lot of members are unaware that the society actually has a library for members to borrow books from (https://www.dropbox.com/…/SFFS-Book-Library-Catalogue-2018-…), if you’d like to borrow a book, just drop a message to Secretary Andrea.

Reminder that you have until this Wednesday to email in your opinions on board game sales (see last email/post for more info).

ALSO, nominations for committee positions are opening on Feb 25th so please consider if you’d like to run!
